DHAKA: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is to summon three directors of Dhaka Regency Hotel & Resort Ltd for their alleged involvement in embezzlement of Tk 50-crore from some Bangladeshi expatriates in London.
Moreover, there is an allegation of siphoning against these high ups of the company.
Directors Kabir Reza and Musleh Ahmed and Managing director Arif Motahar are in the list.
ACC sources said that the steersmen of the hotel received a handsome amount of Tk 50-crore from BD expatriates in UK.
They invested the money in a temptation of being made as share holders of the hotel but were cheated by the cons of the hotel.
Confirming the matter to banglanews, Chairman of ACC M Badiuzzaman said that the details would be disclosed after a proper investigation of the matter.
‘We are on the way to sort out clues behind the scandal and if anyone found guilty would get a penalty,’ he added.
However, ACC officials said that the inquiry was going on and all financial activities of the accused including stock market were being monitored by the anti-corruption body.
