DHAKA: Indian Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar stressed the need for exchange of visits by parliamentary delegations to enhance cooperation between the legislatures of two countries.

The Indian speaker came up with her interest in a meeting with Bangladesh speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury on Wednesday night.  

The Indian speaker expressed keenness to extend overall cooperation to strengthen parliamentary activities in Bangladesh.  

Meira Kumar expressed her gratitude to Bangladesh for honouring different persons and institutions of India for their contribution to the Liberation War in 1971.
