Fire at a shoe factory at KEPZ

CHITTAGONG: A devastating fire broke out at a foreign shoe factory of Kanrafuli Export Processing Zone (KEPZ) at 12:30pm Saturday.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, deputy director of Chittagong fire service Jasim Uddin said: “Ten fire fighting units are trying to douse the fire.”

Officer-in-Charge of EPZ Thana Abul Monsur said, “Fire engulfed chemical godown of the Taiwanese factory and police has taken position to keep law and order under control.”
