RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY: Law enforcers detained one suspect after he attempted to kidnap a student of the university on Monday.

The detained is Ujjal Hossain, son of Golam Mostofa from Darikhorbona village under Boalia upazila of Rajshahi district.

Witnesses said two unidentified persons, disguising themselves DB police by motorbike, attempted to kidnap Nur Zaman, a third-year student of Statistics Department, at main gate while entering the campus.

But people around the student got attention by his scream and held the suspect but another suspect managed to flee the scene.

On information, police personnel from Motihar Thana rushed in and held the suspect.

Officer-in-Charge of Motihar Thana Rezaul Karim told banglanews the detained was were taken to the police station and legal action would be taken after interrogation.
