DHAKA: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Tuesday nabbed a youth for his alleged involvement in circulating the so-called audiovisual message from al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri.
 
RAB personnel also seized three mobile phone sets, two laptops and several books related to extremism, it was disclosed.
 
The youth was identified as Rasel Bin Sattar, 21.
 
“We picked up Rasel from Majhipara area of Tangail district around 5:30am,” said Ziaul Hasan, additional director general of RAB at a press conference at RAB headquarters on Tuesday afternoon.
 
He also said: "Rasel has been circulating the audiovisual clip, which he received from dawahilallah.wordpress.com, on jihadology.net and many other websites since November 30, 2013.
 
Ziaul Hasan added: "Rasel is one of the administrators of Facebook page, “বাঁশেরকেল্লা – Basherkella,” which propagates extremist ideologies."
