NOAKHALI: Four people were killed and 25 others injured in a road accident   in North Wapda area on Sonapur-Char Jabber road under Sadar upazila in the district Tuesday night.

The deceased were identified as Nabin, 40, Masud, 38, Nur Nobi, 27 and Azad, 27.

Witnesses said a truck carrying laborers collided head-on with a pick-up van in the area around 10pm, leaving two people dead on the spot and injured others.

Later, two others died on way to hospital.      

All of the deceased were construction workers who were returning home from Hatia Upazila.

Sudaram thana Officer-in-Charge Mosarrof Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
