DHAKA: A Dhaka court Wednesday granted bail to popular singer Arefin Rumi on condition of negotiation in a case for repression allegations over dowry filed by his wife Ananya.
Women and Children Oppression prevention tribunal Dhaka-5 Judge Tanjina Ismail of the court passed the order.
Earlier in the morning, the hearing on bail petition was held at the court.
Advocate Jahidul Alam Jahid and Shahdat Hossain stood for the accused while Lamia opposed the bail prayer of Rumi.
Earlier on Thursday, a special court sent Arefin Rumi to jail cancelling his bail in a case for repression allegations over dowry filed by his wife Ananya.
The Women and Children Oppression prevention tribunal Dhaka-4 Judge Ariful Haque passed the order.
Confirming the mater, Forkan Ali, a clerk of the court, told banglanews, “The court canceled Arefin Rumi’s bail-term as he violated the condition of negotiation given by his wife.”
Earlier on October 12, Singer Arefin Rumi was arrested in the case filed by his wife. And the singer was granted bail several times.
