DHAKA: Around 1,01,000 pilgrims are to perform Hajj in Mecca from Bangladesh this year where only 10-thousand people get a chance under government management and rest pilgrims by non-government management.
The President of Hajj Agency Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) M Ibrahim Bahar said the government of Bangladesh signed agreement with Saudi Arabia government regarding the matter.
He was addressing a press conference at Jatiya Press Club on Saturday.
M Ibrahim said that this year the pilgrims have to deposit 250-Rial as bank guarantee which is five times more than previous year. Moreover, this year many facilities will be provided to the pilgrims in food and accommodation sectors.
Besides, this Saudi Government will introduce Electronic Web Portal service provider system to the palmers this year, he added.
The HAAB president also said that all the expenditure or transaction of money will be operated through bank this year.
The rest of the rules of performing Hajj remain the same as they were previously.
The spokesperson of the agency suggested to deal with government authorized Hajj agencies and to be aware of any fraud or unauthorized brokers and middlemen.
The Vice-President of HAAB Abdul Kabir Khan along with senior officials of the agency was present there.
