DHAKA: Editor of the Daily Samakal Golam Sarwar on Saturday urged the authorities concerned to form a special tribunal for curbing militancy in the country.
The senior journalist of the country came up with the plea while addressing a seminar on ‘Threats of Militancy: Bangladesh’s reflections’ organized by Bangladesh Centre for Peace and Development at a hotel in the capital.
He said, “Militancy is a barrier to development of the country. A special tribunal should be formed to settle militancy related cases and taking action.”
Golam Sarwar also raised question why the government not banning Jamaat-e-Islam as their name uttered with militancy.
Editor of the Daily Bhorer Kagoj Shyamal Dutta, famous journalist Abed Khan, Editor of Daily Bangladesh Protidin Naem Nizam, Lawyer of Supreme Court Barrister Tania Ameer and Acting Chairman of Ghatak-Dalal Nirmul Committee Shahriar Kabir also spoke.
