The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted a mild to moderate cold wave sweeping over the north-western and northern parts of the country, particularly affecting the districts of Panchagarh and Kurigram.

The cold wave is expected to persist for the next 24 hours, starting from 9 am today.

A ridge of sub-continental high pressure extends up to West Bengal and adjacent western Bangladesh, while a seasonal low lies over South Bay, influencing the region's weather.

The country is likely to experience dry conditions, with light to moderate fog expected to form overnight and persist until morning.

Temperatures are expected to drop by 1-2°C, with the maximum temperature on Saturday recorded at 31.1°C in Teknaf, and the minimum temperature today recorded at 07.9°C in Tetulia.

The sun will set today at 5:35 pm and rise tomorrow at 6:43 am in the capital.
