The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds across the country in the next 24 hours starting from 9am today.

According to a Met office bulletin, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds are expected in most areas of Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, and in many parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Mymensingh divisions. Some areas in Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram may experience moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall.

A mild heat wave sweeping over Rangpur division may abate, the bulletin added.

Day and night temperatures are likely to drop slightly across the country.

On Thursday, the highest temperature was 37.2°C in Tetulia, Rangpur division, while the lowest was 20.5°C in Bandarban.

In Dhaka, sunset is at 6:45pm today and sunrise at 5:25am tomorrow.
