A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a truck in the Gulshan Mor area of Joypurhat town on Saturday (January 18) at around 10 PM.

The deceased Md Hridoy Hossain, 24, was a resident of Tergati village in Chokborkot union of Joypurhat Sadar upazila and the son of Babu Mia.

Following the incident, police have arrested the truck driver, Helal Uddin, 55, a resident of Chabna village in Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia.

Joypurhat Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahed Al-Mamun confirmed the matter.

No formal complaint has been filed regarding the incident so far, the OC added.
