Dhaka's air quality has reached alarming levels, with the capital of Bangladesh ranked fifth globally for the most polluted air.
As of 8:52 am on Saturday (February 1), the Air Quality Index (AQI) for Dhaka was 189, categorizing the air as 'very unhealthy'.
The Eastern Housing area recorded the highest pollution level in Dhaka, with an AQI score of 236.
Meanwhile, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, had the most polluted air among global cities today, with an AQI of 215.
According to IQAir standards, air quality is deemed good with scores between 0 and 50, moderate between 51 and 100, and unhealthy for sensitive groups from 101 to 150. An AQI score of 151 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 is very unhealthy, and anything over 301 is classified as disastrous.
