Government offices, courts, and educational institutions are open today, Saturday (24 May), as part of a revised schedule ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha holidays.
Although the government has announced a 10-day holiday for Eid, a decision was made on 6 May to keep offices and institutions open on two Saturdays — 17 and 24 May — to compensate for the extended break.
The Eid-ul-Azha holiday will run from 5 to 10 June. In addition, 11 and 12 June have been declared holidays, followed by the regular weekly holidays, bringing the total to 10 consecutive days.
To accommodate this extended leave, all government, semi-government, autonomous offices, courts, and educational institutions — as well as banks and many private organisations — are open on the designated Saturdays.
