The government has formed a new pay commission for employees and officers under the national pay scale.

The decision was made during the regular meeting of the Advisory Council held on Thursday (July 24).

The Press Wing of the Chief Adviser’s Office confirmed the matter.

According to the press statement, the Advisory Council, chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, approved the formation of the new commission for government employees and officers under the national pay scale.

Former finance secretary Zakir Ahmed Khan will head the newly formed commission. The commission is expected to submit its report within six months.
