Five victims of the recent Air Force training jet crash at Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Uttara area remain in critical condition, doctors said on Friday (July 25).
All five are currently undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
Professor Dr Nasir Uddin, director of the institute, provided the update during a press briefing at the hospital's emergency department on Friday afternoon.
He said a total of 40 patients are still admitted, including those with varying degrees of burn injuries and trauma.
“Among the admitted, five are in critical condition and have been kept in the ICU. Ten more are in CPR category and another ten are in the post-operative recovery stage. Fifteen patients are being treated in general cabins,” said Dr Nasir.
However, some patients on life support have shown signs of improvement. “Two of them can now breathe on their own,” he said.
Dr Nasir added that 4 to 5 patients may be discharged on Saturday (July 26) due to improvements in their condition.
