Dr Morris Tidball-Binz, United Nations Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions held meeting with Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam, in Dhaka on Tuesday (July 29).

The courtesy meeting was held at the Police Headquarters, where both sides discussed issues related to forensic labs, autopsy procedures, and the protection of human rights in law enforcement activities.

During the discussion, the IGP said Bangladesh Police is committed to upholding human rights and applies the law with the highest level of professionalism. 

He stressed that the force performs its duties while maintaining professional standards in all situations.

In the meeting other senior police officials were also present.
