Three motorcyclists were killed after a pickup van collided with their bike in Dhanbari upazila of Tangail early today.

The accident took place in the Bilaspur Battala area early in the morning.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Akram Hossain of Dhanbari Police Station confirmed the matter.

The deceased were identified as Md Al Amin, son of Zinnat Ali of Charpolshia village in Jamalpur Sadar upazila; Swapan Mia, son of Md Aminul; and Md Jewel, son of Nur Islam of Hasil Manikabari village.

Quoting witnesses, SI Akram said a pickup van travelling to Jamalpur from Dhaka collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. The impact threw all three riders off the bike, killing them on the spot.

The bodies were recovered and sent to the local hospital morgue for autopsy, he said.
