CEC to meet US envoy in Dhaka Thursday

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A M M Nasir Uddin will meet US Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Tracy Ann Jacobson on Thursday (August 28).

The CEC’s office confirmed the development on Wednesday (August 27).

According to officials Jacobson is scheduled to meet the CEC around 2pm on Thursday.

This will be the first meeting between the US Embassy’s Chargé d’Affaires and the Election Commission formed after the fall of the Awami League government in the student-people’s uprising on 5 August 2024.
