Members of Narayanganj police arrested a Rohingya woman named Hasina from the regional passport office area while attempting to obtain a passport.
The woman was held on Wednesday (August 27) afternoon and later handed over to Fatullah police station.
Shariful Islam, officer-in-charge of Fatullah Model Police Station, said the woman was identified as a Rohingya when her fingerprint was scanned during the application process.
“During primary interrogation, we learnt that she had come to apply for a passport through brokers. Efforts are underway to identify those brokers,” the OC added.
