RAJSHAHI: An insurance official was crushed under the wheels of a Rajshahi University bus on the rail-crossing in the city Thursday.

Police and his colleagues said the deceased, Shah Jamal Haq, 40, hailed from Kushtia, was a principle officer of Prime Islamia Life Insurance company’s Rajshahi office.

Boyalia thana Sub-Inspector Mahfujur Rahman said a Rajshahi University bus ran him down while he was crossing the rail-line.

“Police could not seize the bus as the students on board prevented,” he said.

The body was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue.

His colleagues informed that he was coming back to office from Kushtia after enjoying his leave when he was struck down.

No case was filed yet regarding the accident.
