GOPALGANJ: A court here on Sunday granted a seven-day remand for Harkatul Jihad (HuJi) leader Mufti Hannan and three-day remand for his associate Arif Hasan Suman for quizzing them in Baniarchar bomb explosion case.

Gopalganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Molla Saiful Islam passed the order as the investigating officer of the case ASP Munshi Atiqur Rahman made a 10-day remand plea producing the accused before the court.

The court will hear the case on September 6.

At least 10 people were killed and around 50 injured in an explosion at a church in Baniarchar of Muksudpur upazila on June 3 in 2001.

Two cases were filed with Muksudpur thana in this connection.
