Young people can play role for peace

DHAKA: Speakers at a seminar called upon the young people to play proactive role for peace and prosperity in the ‘crisis ridden’ South Asia.

They also underscored empowerment of SAARC for playing significant role in solving inter-countries conflicts.

Academics, journalists and representatives from civil society made the call at a seminar on ‘Youth in South Asia for Peace and Prosperity’ at the CIRDAP Auditorium in the city Sunday.

South Asia Youth for Peace and Prosperity (SAYPP) organized the seminar with its’ President Saifuddin Ahmed in the chair while Professor Imtiaz Ahmed from Dhaka University presented the keynote.  

Daily New Age Editor Nurul Kabir, former State Minister for Foreign Affairs Abul Hasan Chowdhury, journalist Jaglul Ahmed Chowdhury, Professor Dalem Chandra Barman also spoke.
