Road crash kills 5, injures 40 in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI: Five people were killed and some 40 injured in a road accident at Jongishibpur area of the district Wednesday noon.

Witnesses and police said, the bus owned by Prottasha Paribahan lost its control and hit a bridge at Jongishibpur on its way to Raypura in Narsingdi from Dhaka.

It was also hit from the back by a Sylhet-bound transport van of JB Transport killing five on the spot, police said.

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately. Their bodies were taken to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue.  

The injured were taken to Narsingdi Sadar and Bhairab Hospital.
