DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina claimed that the ruling Awami League would handover power in peaceful manner.
She was addressing a view-exchange meeting with grassroots level leaders and activists of Awami League at Ganabhaban on Wednesday.
Hasina, also president of Awami League, said no government did handover power peacefully since independence. Only Awami League government handed over power in 2001 and the party would go for it again this year after the tenure.
The premier alleged terrorism, corruption, looting and extremism were common phenomenon in the country when BNP was in power.
Regarding military dictatorship, she also said, “We have closed the way to capture state power by army in the article 7 of the constitution. If any one wants to do it he has to face trial.”
