BARISAL: The female student of Barisal University, who was stabbed to injure, by her lover succumbed to her injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased was identified Sawda, 22, a first-year student of Accounting Department of the university and daughter of Abdur Razzak of Patharghata of Barguna.

Earlier, Sawda’s lover Rusel, a second year student of Management Department of the varsity stabbed Sawda with sharp weapon centering misunderstanding over affairs around 8:30am.

She was rushed to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College. Later, she was shifted to Dhaka by helicopter in critical condition.

Barisal University Vice-Chancellor Harun-or-Rashid Khan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The studentship of Rusel would be cancelled at syndicate meeting, he added.
