BSF kills BD national in Panchagarh

PANCHAGARH: A Bangladeshi cattle trader was beaten to death by Border Security Force (BSF) of India at Singroad Pradhanpara frontier of the district.

The deceased was identified as Mantazul Islam, 26, son of late Mofiz Uddin Bahira of Chaklahat union under Sadar upazila.

Sources said Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel recovered Mantazul’s body under Chhota Jamuna Bridge on Sunday noon.

Family members claimed that Mantazul was beaten to death by BSF members.

Panchagarh BGB-18 Battalion Acting Commander Major Shamim said, “We are investigating the matter and after the investigation we will inform BSF about the matter.”
