DHAKA: A Dhaka court awarded seven people lifetime imprisonment on charge of killing Dhaka district judge court lawyer Advocate Emdadul Haque.

The convicts are Belayet, Kazi, Billal Mridha, Ishrafil, Mizan, Monir, Ibrahim and Romas Hawladar.

The court also fined all accused to pay Tk 20 thousands compensation each, in default, they have to serve one more year in jail.

Dhaka No-4 Speedy Trial Tribunal Judge ABM Nizamul Haque pronounced the verdict on Monday after the seven years of killing.

Of the convicts, Billal Mridha is in jail now and rest convicts are fugitive.

According to the verdict, the convicts killed Advocate Emdadul on April 28, 2006 at capital’s Sher-e-Banglanagar.

Victim’s brother was filed a murder case against the convicts.
