BRAHMANBARIA: Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pankaj Saran on Wednesday said he does not have any information about drone deployment along the Bangladesh border by India.
The Indian diplomat also said that he has gone through the news published newspapers only.
He came up with the assertion in response to queries of journalists after visiting Akhaura Land Port.
Pankaj saran also said, “The matter was first published on an Indian newspaper. Later, the matter was published in Bangladeshi newspapers.”
He also said: “Safety in the border area is very important. There ought to be discussion among the home affairs secretaries, home ministers, BSF-BGB and other high ups of government for such decision.”
Pankaj also said that no killing is acceptable whether the person is Indian or Bangladeshi.
The envoy further said they are committed to decrease the number of border killing. “Illegal activities in the border areas have to be stopped to stop the killing,” he said.
Earlier in the day, Pankaj came to Akhaura at around 11.30am. He went Tripura to attend intra-ministry meeting after his visit of the Land Port.
