SATKHIRA: A JSD leader was killed in a road accident on Satkhira-Kaliganj road of Debhata upazila of the district on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Abul Kalam Azad, general secretary of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) Debhata upazila unit.

Witnesses said a Satkhira-bound passenger bus knocked Abul Kalam while he was going to Gazirhat Bazar around 9:00am, leaving him dead on the spot.

Confirming the matter police super Mollah Jahangir Hossain said a case was filed with Debhata Thana in this connection.
