DHAKA: The 19th session of National Parliament is set to begin at 5:00pm Thursday.

On August 18, President Abdul Hamid Advocate under section 72(1) of the Constitution summoned the session.

It is also the fourth session of the year and decision about poll-time government might be finalized in this session. Budget session of the parliament ended on July 16.

Opposition BNP-led alliance attended in 75 working days out of 394 working days of the 18 previous sessions of parliament.

Present parliament started its journey on January 25 in 2009 and it would be dissolved on January 24 in 2014.
