DHAKA: A four-day director general level conference between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Security Force (BSF) of India is set to begin here on Sunday.
The conference will start around 10.00am at BGB Headquarters of Pilkhana in the city.
A 19-member delegation of Bangladesh led by BGB Director General Major General Aziz Ahmed will participate in the meeting.
BGB team will include the Additional Director General of BGB, all the Regional Commanders and high ups of foreign ministry, Survey Bangladesh, India-Bangladesh Joint River Commission members.
On the other hand, BSF Director General Sri Suvas Joshi will lead the 20-member BSF team.
Sources said that killing and abduction of Bangladeshi people along the border by BSF, stopping smuggling of drugs, finding ways to stop illegal trespassing, stopping unauthorized establishments within 150 yards of international borders among other issues will get priority in the meeting.
The meeting will end by signing JRD (Joint Record of Discussions) on September 18.
