Abducted city Imam rescued; 5 held

DHAKA: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-10 in a drive rescued the abducted imam and held five people from Dania area of Rayerbagh on Saturday night.

The rescued man was Kazi Jaher, Imam of Institute of Public Health mosque in capital’s Mohakhali area.

RAB-10 Operations Officer Fazle Rabbi told banglanews that miscreants abducted the Imam on Friday after Jumma prayer and demanded Tk5 lakhs as ransom.
