DHAKA: Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakib Uddin Ahmed categorically said there is no reason to be agreed with Jamaat-e-Islami’s opinion on voter list and registration.
The CEC made the disclosure while talking with journalists after a meeting with Jamaat delegation on Sunday at EC secretariat.
Rakib Uddin said, “They came to EC for a discussion on the narratives of existing law and the facts on High Court ban on Jamaat’s registration and erasing leaders, who are accused for war crimes, from voter list.”
He added, “We just snooped on their arguments but didn’t agreed as the HC verdict on banning Jamaat’s registration still effective and the amended voter list act-2013 is not initiated at all.”
