DHAKA: Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) secretly interrogated Deputy Commissioner of Detective Branch Molla Nazrul Islam on Monday.

ACC Director Wing Commander M Tahidul Islam and Deputy Director Nasim Anwar, also Chief Investigation Officer led the questioning from 11:00am to 1.45pm.

DC Nazrul allegedly detained businessman Abidul Islam on April 6 and tortured him. The official also took Tk 1 crore from him as ransom on April 7.

Later, Sub Inspector Abul Hasnat of DB withdrew the money from Santinagar branches of two private banks.

However, DC Nazrul was made as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at DMP Headquarters and DB Inspector Azhar Uddin and Sub Inspector Abul Hasnat were suspended in this connection.

ACC formed an investigation committee in this regard in the first week of June.
