CHITTAGONG: A couple allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves with one twine near Chawdhury Haat area under Raujan Upazila of the district on Thursday night.

The deceased were identified as Ramjan Ali, 20, son of Saleh Ahmed and Shukhi Akhter, 16, daughter of Idris of the area.

Sources said that the couple committed suicide by hanging themselves near their home at late night fearing restriction of their families on the relation.

On information, police rushed in and recovered the bodies.

Officer-in-Charge of Raujan Thana Enamul Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said, “The bodies were sent to hospital for autopsy and a suicidal note was found and it will help to figure out clues behind the suicide.”
