BHOLA: Launches from Bhola to all other waterways have been halted by the local administration on Friday, alleged the owners and local BNP leaders and activists.
The administration denied the allegation though they failed to explain why the movement of launches was halted.
No launches left from district sadar, Borhanuddin, Tajmuddin, Lalmohan and Charfashion to Dhaka.
Besides, the ferries of Bhola-Laxmipur and Bhola-Barisal also were halted, reported banglanews correspondent.
Manager of A Rahman Launch Company Abdul Mannan told banglanews that police stopped MV Bhola from leaving the district for Dhaka.
Police Super of the district Mohammad Moniruzzaman told banglanews that they did not obstructed movement of launches and he did not know why the launches were stopped.
Deputy Commissioner of Bhola Selim Reza said that the administration did not obstruct the launch movement.
Meanwhile the Officer-in-Charge of Charfashion Thana Abul Bashar acknowledged obstructing the traffic of launch though he failed to provide a reasonable answer for obstruction.
