DHAKA: At least seven people were injured as Jamaat-Shibir men exploded cocktails in Shajadpur area of Gulshan of the city on Wednesday morning, the last day of 60-hour hartal called by 18-party alliance.

Witnesses said that hartal supporters brought out a procession in the area at around 6:00am and blasted 8-10 cocktails.

Later, on information, police rushed to the spot and fired bullets to bring the situation under control.

Moreover, chases and counter chases were occurred between Jamaat-Shibir men and police, leaving seven people including a passerby injured.

Gulshan police station Officer-in-Charge Rafiqul Islam Khan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

On the other hand, Shibir men claimed that their nine activists sustained bullet injuries.
