JESSORE: Terrorists killed a ward Awami League leader in Shuvorara Kheyaghat area of Avoynagar upazila by bomb blast on Thursday evening.

The deceased is Jahidul Islam, 35, a local Awami League leader.

Eyewitnesses said a political meeting was continuing at no-2 ward in the evening. At one stage, some terrorists swooped on the meeting and blasted bombs, leaving Jahidul dead on the spot.

Avoynagar Thana Officer-in-Charge Kazi Abdus Salek confirmed the matter to banglanews.
