The former mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Atiqul Islam has been sent to jail in connection with three murder cases filed with Mohammadpur Police Station related to the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

the court Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Ali Hayder passed the order on Thursday morning.

Around 8:30 am, police produced the former mayor before the court and, later, he was shown arrested in the cases.
