Abdur Razzaque and Lt Col (Retd) Muhammad Faruk Khan, two former ministers in the Awami League administration, have been sent to jail following their remand.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ali Haider issued the order on Thursday (October 17).
Earlier, police presented the two, Former agriculture minister Abdur Razzaque and former civil aviation minister Lt Col (Retd) Muhammad Faruk Khan, before the court after their remand ended.
Police applied for their detention in jail.
However, the defence lawyers sought bail, while the prosecution argued in favour of keeping them in custody.
After hearing their arguments, the judge ordered both presidium members of the Awami League detention in jail.
Razzaque was remanded for two days in a case filed over the killing of businessman Abdul Wadud in the New Market area during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
Besides, Faruk was on a two-day remand in connection with the killing of BNP activist Mokbul in 2022.
