Leaders and activists of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh staged a protest rally after Juma prayers on Friday (May 23) at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka, pressing four specific demands.
The protest was organised by the Dhaka city unit of Hefazat-e-Islam. After the rally, they also announced plans to bring out a procession.
The four demands raised during protest are: Cancellation of the proposed Women’s Reform Commission, trial of the killings during the Shapla Chattar (Square) and July incidents, withdrawal of all “false cases” against Hefazat members, and an end to the killings of Muslims in Palestine and India.
Meanwhile, the Jatiya Biplobi Parishad also held a separate rally and procession in Dhaka, demanding independence for Kashmir, Palestine and Arakan (Rohingya).
