SIRAJGANJ: A half-day hartal is underway in Sirajganj Purashova area amid picketing and procession.

No rickshaw, battery and CNG-run auto-rickshaw are playing in the area. Majority of the shops and business establishments remain closed.

Hartal supporters brought processions and were seen picketing on the morning. However, no untoward incident reported.

Sairajganj Sadar Thana Officer-In-Charge Habibul Islam told banglanews, police have been deployed at different points of the district town since Monday. Police has also been increased to avoid sabotages during hartal.

Villagers of Vangabari area of the Purashova called the hartal on after a man was killed during a clash between the people of Vangabari and Diardhangara. The hartal will continue till 2:00pm.
