DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) declared a month-long program on the occasion of Victory Day that falls on December 16.
BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir Tuesday noon declared the programs at a press conference at its central office in city’s Naya Paltan area.
Earlier, a joint meeting, chaired by Mirza Fakhrul, finalized the programs that include a discussion on the occasion of Democracy Day at National Press Club in city on December 5.
BNP will keep the national flag half-mast and raise black flags at its party offices to mark Martyred Intellectual Day on December 14.
They will also place floral wreath to the altar at Rayerbazar Mass Killing Ground in city on the day.
A discussion on Victory Day will be held at Institute of Engineers’ auditorium in city on December 15.
BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will go to pay her tribute to the martyrs at National Mausoleum in Savar in the early morning on December 16.
She will also pay tribute to the grave of former president and also BNP’s founder Ziaur Rahman at city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area at 9:00pm on the day.
Mirza Fakhrul at the press conference further said that they will bring out a colorful rally to celebrate the Victory Day.
BNP chairperson’s adviser Shamsuzzaman Dudu, joint secretaries general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Amanullah Aman and organizing secretary Fazlul Haque Milon, among others, were present at the conference.
