DHAKA: Over 100 post-deprived leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) staged a demonstration in front of BNP’s central office at Nayapaltan in the city on Wednesday.

They also set fire to some tires in the road in the area around 4:00pm that spread panic among the people in Nayapaltan, Bijoynagar and Kakrail intersection areas.

The vehicle plying also interrupted for the demonstration and fire incident.

However, the JCD leaders Ferdous Munna, Tarun Dey, Anisur Rahman Talukder Khokon and Tariqul Islam Titu led the demonstration.

They also chanted slogans against the new committee and BNP student affairs secretary Shahiduddin Chowdhury Annie and his deputy Sultan Salahuddin Tuku demanding the immediate cancellation of the committee.

The demonstrators also demanded to form a new committee with the post-deprived JCD leaders.

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia should take the responsibility of the JCD leaders and activists, they added.
