DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir claimed that the group of government officials did not meet party chairperson Khaleda Zia.

BNP Assistant office secretary Shamimur Rahman issued a press release and sent it to the media around 12:45am Friday.

Fakhrul said in the statement that some electronic media telecasted that the pro-BNP officers sat with Khaleda in a meeting at her political office in city’s Gulshan area which is not true and fabricated.

Condemning the matter, the BNP spokesperson also urged the people not to be confused with the news.

However, Khaleda was in her political office from 9:15pm to 12:30pm.

Replying a question while came out from the office, Fakhrul said no government officials were there.
