KHAGRACHHARI: ‘Jela Santras O Chandabaz Protirodh Committee’ called dawn-to-dusk hartal in the district for Tuesday demanding the trial of the murder of a school teacher of Manikchhari and put a stop to extortion and terrorism.

Municipality mayor Rafiqul Alam, also the convener of the protirodh committee, announced the shutdown from a protest rally at the open stage in the district Sadar on Monday.

He also forewarned of taking tougher movement if the government does not take effective steps within seven days.

Member secretary of the committee SM Shafi and Bazar Babsyaiyee Samity general secretary Liaquat Ali were among others present at the rally.
