FENI: Police arrested at least 55 activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student wing of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in a case following a clash with police.

Feni town police outpost in-charge Sub-Inspector (SI) Kalam Hossain on Saturday filed the case with Feni Model Thana against more than one thousand people mentioning 188 names following the clash between police and JCD on Friday.

Confirming the matter, Feni Model Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahbub Morshed told banglanews that JCD brought out a procession on Friday and hurled cocktails to police. They also vandalized shops.

Police fired 10 shotgun bullets and 19 rounds of tear shells to bring the situation under control, he added.

Moreover, 25 people including JCD men and pedestrians were injured during the clash.
