DHAKA: Putting emphasis on leadership, Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali said it is an important facet of military profession to undertake the toughest of challenges in life and in battle field.

The Foreign Minister made the remarks as chief guest at the Passing-out dinner at Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA) on Saturday.

The minister also advised the cadets to comprehend the extraordinary speech made by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman during the 1st Passing-out Parade of Bangladesh Military Academy.

However, he paid tribute to the Supreme Heroes- martyrs of our Liberation War while speaking at the program.

Mahmood said it was the dream of the Father of the Nation to have a world famous military academy to produce cadets with excellence.

His daughter, our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has also embarked upon the journey continuing the dream of her father with her “Vision-2021” to transform the country into a middle income country by 2021 and to become a developed country by 2041, the minister added.

The minister also praised Bangladesh Army as it was recognized as a disciplined force worldwide for its notable contribution in UN Peace Keeping Mission and other assignments.

He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also has a vision for shaping the Armed Forces as modern and professional forces and the government has taken several pragmatic steps for this.”

He urged them to enhance their competence and knowledge to meet up the challenges and uphold the image of the Army.
