CHITTAGONG: Chittagong University unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) locked the main gate of the university and staged demonstration in front of administrative building demanding the arrest of killer of party activist Tapas Sarker.

The leaders and activists of BCL locked the main gate around 12.00pm.

Moreover, they also demanded the resignation of the proctor of the university Siraj-ud-Daula.

Joint-secretary of recently cancelled CU Chhattra League committee Sumon Mamun told banglanews the “main perpetrator” of Tapos murder Asha is yet to be held after 24 hours of the incident.

Tougher programmes will be declared if the authorities do not arrest the murderers and the proctor does not resigns by next 24 hours, he added.
